Polar Vortex

The polar vortex kept me from flying out of New York for another three days the beginning of this month. Now that I live in Seattle, I’m back to being appreciative of snowy weather. On the first day of the big snowstorm, I headed out and took pictures of the snow swirling around Times Square. I know no one is allowed to like Time Square, but there’s something so honest about the big, cheesy billboards. Times Square doesn’t try to be tasteful, or subtle. It’s big, and brazen, and compared to the rest of New York, it’s filled with a lot of smiling people who look like they’re happy to be where they are.
